The name of the team: BME Budapest Solar Boat Team - Solar Boat Team of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.
Founded by three mechanical engineering student of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics in 2014, the BME Solar Boat Team is about to design and build a completely solar-powered lightweight boat with electric drive, navigated by man. The goal of the team is to successfully complete two races in 2016: the Dutch Solar Challenge in The Netherlands, and the Solar1Races competition in Monte-Carlo. The BME Solar Boat Team will participate in these races as the first Hungarian team.
Three mechatronic engineering and ten mechanical engineering student from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering have also joined the team. Their task is to design the steering and drive system, the software management of the electronic system, the manufacturing technology of the hull, and also to perform the necessary CFD simulations.
The work of four students from the Faculty of Transportation Engineering and Vehicle Engineering reinforces the team; their role is to design the hull and the foil of the boat, and to design a proper trailer for the road trips.
From the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics three engineering students have been working on to design the electric system, which consists of the battery pack and the solar system, the power electronics devices and the electric drive.
From the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences a Business Engineer/Leadership in Management student deals with marketing and economic tasks.
Besides the present tasks of design and construction we are also focusing on the future - we have established our racing team with a long-term goal. We hope our initiation is going to create a team based on adequate knowledge and infrastructure to involve new generations of engineering students to develop electric vehicles for years.

The Solarboat Team Emden develope and build solar powered raceboats since 2005. In the past we compete with our red B-Class catamaran "Solarla" in several races and had a lot of fun with her. In 2013 we decide to design a complete new boat, especially optimized for long distance offshore races under rought conditions like choppy water or strong Wind: the "SUNDERBIRD" was born! After 3 years of development and improvement the SUNDERBIRD is now ready for racing! The complete boat (except the battery and the solarpanels) is not only designed and constructed by students, they built everything with their own hands!

Spectrum Solar Team is a team of 7 young techies. We are building a solar boat, a boat that runs on energy from the sun. We have successful experiences with the Sinnergy Solar Team (ROC Friese Poort Drachten) and SolarTeam Lindenborg (rsg de Borgen Leek). In the spring of 2017, apart from those educational institutions, we went further and set up the Spectrum Solar Team Foundation. With a lot of commitment, own time and clear goals, we are building a new concept on a solar boat from our workplace in Drachten. With the new concept we want to achieve a top result! We work together with people, companies and teams from different fields to utilize all possibilities for the promotion of sustainable energy!

CleanMobility is the collective name for the energy efficient vehicles developed by students of the University of Applied Sciences Amsterdam.
Each academic year the CleanMobility teams are comprised of a new group of second year students from the Engineering program. As a part of their curriculum the students spent a year further developing the vehicles of their predecessors.
At the end of each college year they compete in international competitions which all focus on being as energy efficient as possible.

The VHL-Nordwin Solar Boat Team was established in 2008 by a group of Environmental Science students and teachers from the Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences in Leeuwarden. The first solar boat was a so-called B-class boat, a double boat. Nowadays the team consists of students from different study programs at Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences and Nordwin College and we have been sailing in the A-class for several years where we have achieved various successes.
As a VHL-Nordwin Solar Boat Team, we want to show that it is possible to build a high-performance boat by using mainly sustainable, environmentally-friendly materials. This can also be seen from the successes achieved in the past. In our boat there are virtually no materials such as carbon. The carbon present is second-hand taken from other Solar Teams . By reusing this, this can also be seen as a form of sustainability. During the Dutch Solar Challenge in 2016, the current boat, the Sinnestream , was designated as the most sustainable solar boat in the world by means of the Sustainability Chart.

This was it again! The first race of the season is over and the team can start working on the boat again. It was a very nice racing weekend with some setbacks but all in all we are very satisfied. After a good start at the Endurance, the race unfortunately had to be stopped by a mechanical defect. Then it was time for the Rondje Akkrum that went well, we finished 5th. Finally it was time to go sprinting, we have finished 5th again. We learned a lot during this race weekend, where the boat can be improved and what needs to be retained. Now it's time to tinker with the boat and then it's time for the next race in Purmerend on 21 & 22 June. Until then!
